INGREDIENTS:
A cup of broken wheat (daliya)
A cup of curd
½ cup of finely chopped cabbage
grated carrots
Finely chopped green chilies -2 nos.
1 tsp roughly grounded roasted peanuts
½ tsp of mustard seeds
½ tsp of turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
½ tsp of ENO fruit salt
2 tbsp of fresh green peas
1 tbsp oilFirst of all..Dry roast broken wheat in a pan.
Now add a cup of water in curd and mix it well.
Heat 1 tsp of oil and fry mustard seeds for seconds, add chopped green chilies then add chopped carrot and cabbage and mix it well for two minutes.
Mix broken wheat(daliya)with watery curd soak it for ½ an hour.
Mix all the ingredients into daliya (broken wheat) and mix it well.
Heat water in a steamer .grease idli molds with oil.
Now add ENO fruit salt in daliya batter and mix it gently.
Pour the batter in to the idli stand.
Steam for 12 to 15 minutes on medium flame .prick a toothpick, if it comes clean it means it’s prepared.
Allow it to cool a bit and remove from molds using a spoon or knife.
Delicious spongy, soft and healthy daliya idli is ready to serve
